A Bone Matua (Fish Hook) is a stylized and hand crafted New Zealand Maori pendant. These pendants represent prosperity, abundance, fertility and strength. Hei Matua can also be symbols of power and authority in Maori culture and as such are held in high esteem by Maori people.
Koru (Spiral) bone carvings represent peace, tranquility, regrowth and new beginnings. They are also commonly associated with nurturing and when connected with other Koru pendants it is used to represent the strength, purity and bonds in a loving relationship whether between friends, partners, spouses or parent/child relationships it shows the beginning and growth that happens in that relationship. Not recommended to wear stained pendants in water as constant exposure over a long period of time could affect the staining.
